Organic, Biodynamic, Natural: the real differences
Three words that seem the same but aren't. Zero ideology, just facts.
"Organic", "biodynamic" and "natural" are not synonyms. Let's clarify.
🌱 Organic
EU regulation (2012). No chemical pesticides, controlled yields. Lower sulfite limits. Mandatory EU logo. The most regulated and verifiable method.
🌙 Biodynamic
Private certification (Demeter). Steiner's theories (1924). Everything organic does + lunar phases and biodynamic preparations. Vineyard results are often excellent.
🍇 Natural
No legal definition. Minimum intervention: indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfites, no aggressive filtration. The best are unique experiences. The worst taste of vinegar. Trust the producer, not the label.
💡 Pigmento tip
Don't buy a wine because it's organic. Buy it because it's good. If it's good AND organic? Even better.
